TOGETHER, WE RISE AS ONE PEOPLE FROM ONE COUNTY
The Nimba County Asssociation of New York is a unique group that comprises of citizens of Nimba County in the State of New York, friends of Nimba county and people with direct link to Nimba or people from Liberia who in good faith want to affilate with the people of Nimba. In this chapter, we have representation from all of the tribes that make up Nimba, i.e Mandigo, Krahn, Mano, Gio, kpelle and more. This is a non-political, non-sectarian organization exclusively organized to provide humanitarian and educational assistance to Liberians, especially those living in Nimba county and to assist other Nimbains and Liberians living in the state of New York & beyond. NICANY is the biggest chapter of Nimbains living in the diaspora. There are aproximately 15,000 Nimbains living in the state of New York with 12, 000 in the City of New York. We are a member of the UNITED NIMBA CITIZENS COUNCIL IN NORTH AMERICA. WE DO NOT ENGAGE IN POLITICS.

Owen J. Tuazama is a progressive, passionate, and tranformative leader with a vision bigger than himself. He's the President of the Nimba Association of NY. His Vision for the Association is to "Unite the citizens of Nimba in New York and beyond, provide educational and material support for Nimbains in Liberia & those living in the state of New York and beyond.

Our Mission is to educate the youths of Nimba & Liberia through scholarships and tuition assistance, to empower women through micro-loan projects for small businesses, to provide medical equipments for clinics and hospitals in Nimba, to provide material support to the needy in Nimba, to work with elected officials on addressing the needs of the people of Nimba and Liberia in general, to provide financial support to the Citizens of Nimba in Liberia, especially those in Nimba county and to support and protect the Nimbains in the state of New York in many ways possible. This Association is dedicated to improving the lives of the people of Nimba in Liberia and those in the State of New York. We are stronger in unity and powerful in diversity. We respect every opinion and idea. Our Mission is bigger than a political agenda.
